When I was a child, Betsy (before she was played by Meg Ryan) on ATWT went HYSTERICALLY DEAF when she heard who her real father was, and I couldn't WAIT to go hysterically deaf. Every time someone said something I didn't like I'd pause to see if I could hear anything else after.
Hi Alina - If you were doing a special section on finales of departed soap operas, I would nominate this scene from Texas. It’s another of my favourite daytime scenes. https://youtu.be/xtitOGPZCQs
Why both actors missed out on Emmys is beyond me. Although both actors are no longer with us, maybe some of the writers / directors / executive producers are.
I understood that legendary AW scribe Harding Lemay sketched out Iris’ return to Bay City in a brief period were he was back in the fold in the late 1980s.
The most foolish thing AW did in the early 1990s was to write the Iris character out again in a plot where she went to jail for shooting Carl Hutchins.

OK, this is hilarious! Thank you for sharing!!!

Terrific to receive your note Alina.
So glad you included the Felicia Gallant (Linda Dano) intervention story in your initial book.
Apart from those scenes, my favourite would have to be of the late Douglass Watson and the late Carmen Duncan, also from Another World.
The scene is the one where Iris reveals to “Daddy” Mac that she has been “The Chief.”

Thanks for consideration on the above scene!
