This is how 'Ally Richardson responded to me (after we spent about 20 minutes on the phone---how she got my phone number is unclear...hadn't read my book, m and assured me she wasn't charging anything, but would sell the book not only in her bookstore, but promote it to her international network. My email to her after i found it in spam:
Dear Ally:
Your email to my gmail did go into my spam...& you know why? You've probably sent h this email to over a dozen writers, minimum. Also, the "URGENT!!!" will cause an email to get rejected as spam.
I'm not sure from your email why you think traditional publishers should be interested in a self-published book, but go ahead----as long as you don't ask me for money.
You mentioned on the phone that you own a retail book store. You would know then, that you'd have to order from Ingram Spark unless you are offering to REPUBLISH the book. but if you want to republish The Pleasure Seeker, send me a contract and I'll have a lawyer look at it.
I paid to have it at Combined Book Exchange Bookfairs 2 years ago. I know some libraries have it, but not many,
Finally, the internet says your home office is in Florida. Is it?
Ally's Response:As a literary agent, I understand your caution about these matters. Book publicity involves money and investment — nothing comes free in this industry. If this is your mindset as a new author, I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to accept your book portfolio. You need to understand what publicity entails and how it differs from marketing. Thank you.

Wow. Love the way you handled this clown. I've gotten to where I don't even engage with these clowns on social media. At all.
This is so brilliant and funny at the same time. I love your sense of humor when dealing with this buffoon. Randy
