I allow people to purchase books from my website or from platforms such as Amazon (Draft to Digital makes your ebook available from endless platforms). Some of my readers have philosophical issues with enriching Amazon. However, the vast majority of buyers use Amazon to buy my books, which is fine. It saves me the trouble of going to the post office to mail them.
Aw, that's so sweet. I started this Substack when, in one year, I lost my publisher and my agent, and was basically starting my career all over again from Square One. I hope you enjoy "My Mother's Secret!" I love to pop into bookclubs to discuss via Zoom, if you're ever interested!
I'm so glad that I went to school in the 1970s when most public schools in NYC were terrible apart from Bronx High School of Science and Stuyvesant. It feels like it was much less competitive back then. Also, I went to a really tiny private school. And yes, Amazon!

You don’t mention the expense of mailing your books, so isn’t profit per book from your website lower than the amount you state?
Ebooks only.
I didn’t know you could mail your own ebooks. That’s interesting.
They pay and they download it right off the site. It's one of the features the developer added to my revamped website.
I run a book club and we're reading "My Mother's Secret." It's excellent! But why do you call yourself a literary loser when you're clearly a winner?

Where'd you go?
St. Hilda's & St. Hugh's from 1st through 12th grade. The school closed the high school in 1992. Now it's just nursery through 8th grade.
I never knew it had a high school! I'm on the UWS, so I know it!
Amazon!
