The official announcement of my next History Through Fiction novel will be out next Wednesday, June 26.
I’ve been dropping cryptic clues on Facebook regarding what it will be about. Now it’s your turn to play along. See if you can guess the plot of my next historical fiction novel based on the following seven clues (and make sure you come back next week for the big reveal and to see if you were right):
Cryptic Clue #1: “Mayn muter un ikh” is reported to be the world’s only Yiddish language soap-opera. 150 episodes aired from 1942 to 1943 on WEVD Radio in New York City. Among the performers was child actor Sidney Lumet… before he became an Oscar winning writer and director.
Cryptic Clue #2: In 2004, a group of Libertarian individualists started a commune. Of individuals. And then the bears came.
Cryptic Clue #3: The Harlem Hellfighters, the all-Black regiment of World War I and World War II
Cryptic Clue #4: Phil Donahue and Vladimir Povzner connect the people of the USA and the USSR for a Citizen’s Summit in 1985.
Cryptic Clue #5: The Women’s Revolution of Rojava.
Cryptic Clue #6: “That Party at Lenny’s.” I’d heard about the “New York Magazine” article that coined “radical chic” forever, but then I finally read it.
Cryptic Clue #7: The 1936 Soviet film, “Circus,” and it’s patriotic ending song, “Wide is My Motherland.” (It was reportedly Josef Stalin’s favorite movie!)
So there you have it. Seven clues you can ponder for the next seven days until my official publication announcement.
What do you think my next book will be about? I would love to see your guess in the Comments. There may even be a prize. (As soon as I think of one…)
